Humpback Whale Panel

Red cedar panel carving by Troy Rata in collaboration with Gordon Dick. Its predominant imagery is of a humpback whale with a wolf profile in its tail fin. The wolf represents the Tseshaht people, who traditionally hunted whales such as humpbacks, which migrate up the west coast of Vancouver Island. This is Rata’s first piece while represented by Ahtsik Gallery.

Dimensions: 30″ diameter, widest depth 1.75″”
